Congratulations to Rowling class for achieving the 'best class participation' award for Key Stage 2 during our recent maths challenge fundraiser! We're proud to be actively supporting the NSPCC!
On Wednesday the collection team from Love in a Box arrived and with some help from the children loaded up 118 boxes to begin their journey around the world!
The exciting contents of these boxes will make someone very happy this Christmas so thank you to everyone who has supported this worthwhile cause.
The school was very bright and colourful on Friday 13th November as children arrived wearing spots and stripes for a very good cause.
Many thanks for all your contributions, you have raised £306 so far which will be sent to the Children in Need Appeal to support the important work they do both here in the UK and abroad.
Meet our new charity representatives for 2015-16:
Jess, Pau, Sonny, Tilly, Miia, Ruby, Jack, Jamie, Sophie, Lorien, James, Joseph and Charlie.
These keen boys and girls were voted into this position of responsibility by their classmates. They will be very busy throughout the year promoting fundraising activities in school to raise money for good causes.
Watch this space for news of upcoming events.......
A huge thank you to everyone who donated today and also for helping the children to (or making themselves) "Look Funny for Money". The donations totalled an amazing £370 and a further £500 was raised through the sales of red noses and deely boppers in school.
Take a look at the "Funny For Money" gallery to see just how hilarious everyone looked - especially the teachers after the children had given them a makeover!
Charity work and fundraising is a huge part of life at St Gilbert's. We spend time throughout the year raising awareness of those in need, both close to home and internationally, hoping to make a difference through our fundraising. Thinking of new and exciting ways to raise money is all part of the fun, whether it is a Teddy Bear day or a day in fancy dress - we love it!
