Teacher: Miss Cook
As part of our India topic, we have spent the last few weeks designing and making our own patches to be part of an Indian wall hanging.
After lots of patient and careful sewing - look what beautiful creations we have made...
This week year 3/4 had the opportunity to try lots of different Indian foods. We tried chicken korma; chicken tikka masala; onion bhajis; naan breads; mango chutney; samosas; raita and pilau rice. This was the first time for many to try these foods and lots of children said they would love to eat them again. We were very impressed that so many children gave everything a taste!
We are so proud of each and every one of our runners this morning who represented St Gilbert's in the annual cross country championships. What a wonderful event: the sun was shining and the children were smiling. Thank you to SWA for organising the day; thank you to the parents and staff who gave up their Saturday morning to give their support. But most of all, thank you to all the pupils who took part - you were an inspiration!
Thankyou to our pupils who took part in the Prokick Challenge earlier this week.
A lot of fun was had when Harvey, from Sports Connections Foundation, put us through our paces kicking a ball as fast as we could into a huge inflatable goal!
Your sponsors will help to positively improve the lives of young people in the UK and abroad through education and sport.
Please return all sponsor forms and money by Wednesday.
Certificates and prizes will be awarded later in the week.
On Thursday, we took a fantastic team from Years 3 and 4 to SWA for a Tag Rugby Tournament. William, George, Ruben, Rory, Sam, Millie, Beth and Eloise all played exceptionally well in all 7 games. It was the first time that the children had played a match together and they showed fantastic team spirit. We came a very successful 2nd in the tournament!
Well done to the players and thank you to our supporters.
Welcome to Dahl Class! In our class we love to learn, take pride in our work, encourage each other and work as a team. We put 100% effort into everything we do and strive to be independent, enthusiastic learners! We love Roald Dahl and have lots of fantastic stories written by this amazing and unique author! One of our favourites is 'George's Marvellous Medicine', which always generates plenty of laugher!
We are so excited about the topics coming up this year which include Animal Kingdom, Victorians, Pirates and Egyptians. Let the learning begin!
