An E-Safety message from our Young Governors

Our Young Governors have taken on the additional role of E-Cadets this year with the aim of promoting positive messages across school about staying safe online.

As part of a challenge for Safer Internet Day on 9th February, they were tasked with creating a short film on the theme of "One World, Connected." They decided to focus their message on communicating safely with others online. Every member of Young Governors contributed through ideas for the initial storyboard, creating the colourful images, performing the voice overs or producing and editing with the iPads.

A huge well done to our Young Governors and a big thank you to Miss Brown for giving up her lunchtimes to oversee the project. Click onto "One World, Connected" to enjoy our short film and spread the word about staying safe online.

New Young Governors elected - congratulations!

A big Well Done to all those pupils who put together their manifestos and presented them to their classes in our annual election of Young Governors (previously known as School Council). Last Monday all pupils from Year 1 upwards cast their secret votes in order to elect those who would represent their class in the important role of Young Governor 2015-16.

After the votes were counted, the results were announced in Star Assembly on Friday. A tie on the number of votes in one class resulted in 3 representatives being elected. The names of the successful candidates are as follows:

Seuss Class: Y2 George

Donaldson Class: Y2 Daniel

Milne Class: Y2 Lucas

Dahl Class: Y3 Charlie Y4 Harry

Strong Class: Y3 Sean Y4 Leo

Fine Class: Y3 Polly Oscar Y4 Emily

Snicket Class: Y5 Sophia Y6 Louie

Morpurgo Class: Y5 Robyn Y6 Imogen

Rowling Class: Y5 Ben Y6 Ali

Congratulations to all our new Young Governors.

Our first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 6th October at 12.15 pm in the IT suite.

We write to Elbagih to let her know what we are doing at St. Gilbert's and to find out a little about her time in Sudan.
