Welcome to St Gilbert's Church of England Primary School

"Life in all its fullness" John 10.10

Pupils are well cared for in this friendly, welcoming school. Leaders and staff share a vision to inspire pupils with a love of learning. An engaging curriculum, strong Christian ethos and pastoral care are at the heart of the school’s work. Teachers encourage pupils to be confident and independent learners. Pupils receive good-quality education. Teachers make learning purposeful and interesting’.

‘Leaders prioritise pupils’ well-being, including their mental health. Pupils are taught how to stay safe. They say that staff keep them safe. A comment typical of the views expressed by pupils was: ‘Teachers must have some kind of radar system because they seem to know when something is wrong and will pull us aside for a chat to check we’re OK.’

Ofsted Report July 2021

We are exceptionally proud of our school and are confident that we provide a vibrant and stimulating learning environment in which pupils of all abilities thrive, founded on a strong Christian ethos.

We want all pupils of all abilities to experience success in everything that they do as part of our school family. We aspire for them to maximise their potential and we encourage all our pupils to take a full part in the life of the school by taking on leadership responsibilities, representing the school within the community and being involved in activities during and after the school day.

We strongly believe that all our pupils should not just grow academically through inspirational teaching but that they should also be nurtured personally and socially so that they become confident, well-balanced and happy, prepared for the world beyond St Gilbert's.

Staff and Governors believe that learning is lifelong and that everyone within our school community should seize every opportunity to develop and grow, living life to the full. We are committed to providing a high quality education for all our children and we look forward to working alongside you in realising this.

It is my hope that our website will serve to make us a very accessible and informative school, and also provide us with the opportunity to share some of the wonderful things we do at St Gilbert’s Church of England Primary School.

Do come and visit us to see the life of the school first hand or contact the school for further information.

I look forward to meeting you.
